The research at the IT Faculty is carried out by the two departments:
Both departments are common between the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology, which creates a dynamic milieu for cross disciplinary research within the field of IT.
The researach at the Department of Applied Information Technology focuses on e.g. IT management, interaction design, IT and learning, Open Innovation, and Public Safety.
At the Department of Computer Science and Engineering the research focuses on areas as language technology, programming logic, and Software Engineering
March 2011: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering gets the rating "outstanding" in the RED10 Research Evaluation
The research at the departments is often conducted in close cooperation with industry. Cooperation takes place through joint projects, industrial graduate students and adjunct professors from industry.
The IT Faculty also collaborates with many other parts of Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg.
