Tuition fees and scholarships

From the autumn semester 2011 Sweden will introduce application fees and tuition fees for bachelor and master students from outside the EU/EEA area (list of EU/EEA countries). Please note that the education in Sweden is still free of charge for students from countries within EU and the EEA.

Fees for students from outside EU/EEA

The application fee will be 900 SEK. You can find more information at universityadmissions.se, the national website for applying to higher education in Sweden.

The tuition fees for bachelor- and master programmes within the IT Faculty at the University of Gothenburg have been set to 130 000 SEK per year and student, starting from the academic year 2011/2012.

Scholarships

Sweden has introduced a governmental scholarship for students required to pay a tuiton fee (see link below). The scholarship is allocated by the International Programme Office for Education and Training and is administered by the University of Gothenburg.

There are also scholarships for international students administered by the Swedish Institute. The exact number of scholarships varies from year to year. Not all programmes at Swedish universities are included in the Swedish Institute's scholarship programme.
